Biography

Zorina Alliata is an artificial intelligence leader with more than ten years of experience defining and delivering enterprise AI programs. She serves as Director of AI Enablement at Wolters Kluwer, where she leads AI strategy, architecture and governance as a member of the enterprise AI Center of Excellence. Previously she was Principal AI Strategist at Amazon Web Services, advising global enterprises across North America, EMEA and Latin America on machine learning and generative AI adoption.

Her career spans software engineering at The NASDAQ Stock Market, data science leadership at GEICO, and machine learning delivery at Capital One's Center for Machine Learning. Her current work focuses on semantic layers, knowledge graphs and domain ontologies as the foundation for reliable enterprise AI, and on the operating models that make Responsible AI practical at scale.

She teaches artificial intelligence at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies, where she created the AI For Leaders course and serves on the Advisory Board of the MPS in Project Management, and at the Open Institute of Technology, where she is faculty for the AI master's track. She is a frequent international speaker, the author of two professional books and several online courses, and a published writer of literary and science fiction.

She holds an MBA and a BSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Iasi, Romania, and is a PhD candidate at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. Her doctoral research focuses on AI agents, market manipulation, algorithmic trading, market volatility, and knowledge graphs for financial intelligence.

Born and raised in Romania, Zorina has lived in the United States for the past three decades and is based in the Washington, DC area with her husband, their son, a large dog and two cats.

A significant part of her career has been dedicated to broadening participation in artificial intelligence — mentoring women in technology, supporting first-generation technologists, and creating pathways for professionals entering the field from non-traditional backgrounds.
